Hello!(:
I was reading some old 8 days magazine and found this page which is kinda useful for the new room that we are going to own 2 weeks later. It tells the what colours are suitable for what kind of room for different acitivities. So here it goes:
Red
Stimulates: Energy and empowerment
Best colour for: A fitness/exercise room. The colour of good luck, a red fitness room will help energise your being, more often than not, its empowering nature will inspire you to move. Note that it's visually exhausting and stressful for the hypersensitive, so avoid red in the bedroom.
Orange
Stimulates: Appetite and communication
Best colour for: Dining rooms for dinner parties, family day rooms. And orange dining room or living room can stimulate the appetite and encourage a joyful social setting, orange enhances parties, communication, positive feelings, and general good cheer.
Yellow
Stimulates: brain activity
Best colour for: home offices. A yellow office is intellectually beneficial because its considered a color for the logical, left side of the brain. Yellow rooms inspire intellectual clarity, organisation, articulated thinking, happy energy and longevity. Note though, that its strong energy may hinder mental relaxation, so use yellow accents instead of painting the walls.
Green!
Stimulates: rest and rejuvenation
Best colour for: Bedrooms, green is considered to be a colour of rest, regrowth and peace, which makes it ideal for a bedroom. Green is the colour of the outdoors, and it imbues a calm at the same time. Stick to relaxing light greens for bedrooms.
Purple
Stimulates: protection and calm
Best colour for: a restless child's room. Its very comforting and promotes rest for the hyperactive child. Give children light violet shades to calm them after a long day at school. best shad to try lulling them to sleep with.
Blue:
Stimulates:Sleep and spirituality
Best colour for: meditation rooms blue has a cool energy that is very relaxing, peaceful, and spiritual. It has been found to help reduce blood pressure (?!) and soothe one to sleep. Avoid dark shades as they can make you too introspective.
