Hello Everyone!

How are you guys coping after the carnival? Hope you guys are fine, and for those who have exams...JIA YOU! All the best and you guys will pull through. Yes Joshua knows how to spell hanyu pinyin after all haha (My chinese is lousy if you need to know).

Well, besides that I'd like to share some Bible trivia here, which I think it's quite cool.

Remember Genesis 1-2:3? The beginning of the Bible. It's about the creation of the Earth by God, and it is written as a prose (sounds boring?). But...there is a poetic dimension to it! And no it is not about rhyming Hebrew words.

Look at how the different days in the week that God created the world:

Day 1 (1:3-5) Light / Day 4 (1:14-19) Sun, moon and stars
Day 2 (1:6-8) Sky and seas / Day 5 (1:20-23) Sky and sea animals
Day 3 (1:9-13) Dry land and plant life / Day 6 (1:24-31) Land animals eat the plants
Day 7 (2:2-3) Rest

Kinda see that Day 1 and 3 are linked, same for 2 and 5, and 3 and 6?

Days 1-3 are to give Earth a basic form, while Days 4-6 add on the form with content. That's the pattern in Genesis haha. So next time there's a game with a Bible trivia question asks what was formed on which day...here's the easy way of remembering and getting the right answer!

Here's another I'd like to share with you all too...

The number 666 is known to us to represent 'the number of the beast' in Revelations. Ever wonder why it is 666 and not 555 or 888?

Well, number 7 represents completion and perfection. In Revelations we read about the Satan's Trio, the dragon, land beast and the sea beast. In spite of their claim of divinity, performing miracles and having authority of nations etc., they still fall short of the Holy Trinity (or 777 if you think in numbers heh). Hence, the number 666.

If you knew these 2 before I 'found' them, good! If not, hope you found them interesting :)

But I'd like to encourage everybody here to spend time to read the Bible. Not to just to read the Bible, but to also use supplements or guides in your reading! I only noticed these little things from reading the Daily Bread and How to read the Bible Book by Book. I highly reccommend Daily Bread or the The One Year NIV Devotional (NT) for anyone...espacially those who are busy. These books are very helpful. No excuse for skipping a little reading of the Bible everyday!

Gotta scoot off now and head back to camp! Wish I had more time outside to spend with you guys, but duty calls :P

See you all soon!
Junkie Josh
